Wedding of Carmel and Andrew. Mr & Mrs. Corr.
Band for the evening was the dance-on –wedding band 6 piece band, very well presented on stage, adequate lights and not to loud so as to annoy older folks. Female singer in the band. The band covered all the best wedding classic band songs, played a live set for 2.5hours, definitely gave value for money, good lead vocals and as they were a six piece they had good backing vocals. They certainly know how to work the crowd. The Sheraton hotel function room is on the first floor of the hotel and it’s a split room by that I mean you have to travel into another room to get to the loos, it leave the room as we music people would say, “a hard room to work”.
The band covered all the bridal parties dances and really had the crowd hopping and begging for more when they finished. I have to say I found this wedding a difficult one to play to, the bride had given me a list of her favourite songs which were not floor fillers. However needs must I got on with the show ,the groom and the best man had a dance off to Justin Timberlake one love, it was interesting and the crowd were entertained. The best man was talented he even sang with the band.
The crowd mainly were into newish music for the disco part at least, so we played lots of Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Katy Perry,
AC/DC, Killers, Kings of Leon and the Sawdoctors
All round it was a good wedding but the crowd made me sweat to get them out dancing.
